Qatar Airways plans to offer 56 weekly flights to eight destinations in the United States by mid-September. The airline aims to position itself as the largest international carrier operating services to and from the U.S.
Qatar Airways has never stopped flying to U.S. destinations during the coronavirus pandemic and is now strengthening its network of American destinations. The airline announced this weekend that it plans to resume flights to Houston and Philadelphia this week. Flights to Houston will be three times a week starting 2 September. Philadelphia will see four weekly flights from 15 September.
Alongside the expansion, Qatar Airways is will resume daily flights to Los Angeles starting 12 August and is planning to fly twice a day to New Ýork JFK from 1 September. In total, the airline will operate 56 weekly flights to eight main U.S. destinations, as alongside New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Philadelphia, Qatar also flies to Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth and Washington D.C. The national carrier of Qatar says it is working closely with the U.S. government as it attempts to rebuild its network.
