Delta Air Lines is “well on its way” to test its entire workforce for COVID-19 or coronavirus.
By testing all employees, the airline aims to reassure passengers that it is safe to flying in the midst of the current pandemic. Whereas Delta had approximately 91,000 staff by the end of 2019, 17,000 have since voluntarily left the company. The airline now says that it has currently already tested about half of its 75,000 staff and that it is “well on its way” to test its entire workforce.
Delta has set up test locations in various cities. This includes primarily the cities where most employees live, such as Atlanta, Minneapolis and New York. Employees can also take a test at home: it will then be sent by mail. The airline also offers serological tests that can be used to test for antibodies in the blood.
