Boeing is again facing production errors in hundreds of 787 Dreamliners, various media report. The aircraft manufacturer is in talks with the FAA about the issues.
According to Seattle-based KOMO News Radio, the issue involves the 787’s vertical tail fin and could affect up to 680 aircraft. This is the fourth reported production issue in recent days involving Boeing’s Dreamliners. According to Boeing, the issue was found in late 2019 and has been communicated to the production line. The aircraft manufacturer states that the issue “did not immediately affect the safety of flight and no immediate action is required”.
According to press agency Reuters, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), when asked about this latest issue, stated it is “investigating manufacturing flaws affecting certain Boeing 787 jetliners”. However, no new airworthiness directives have been issued. The issues can perhaps be resolved during regularly scheduled maintenance.
