British Airways is offering its popular fear of flying course online for the first time this October. Typically, the training is only given in class followed by a short flight to put what has been learned into practice. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this can now also be done virtually.
According to British Airways, about 25 percent of all people have some form of fear of flying and one in ten has a real phobia of flying. Over the past 35 years, over 50,000 people have taken the “Flying with Confidence” course to overcome their fears.
During the training, students will learn how an aircraft works, how safe flying actually is, why turbulence occurs, and how anxious passengers can overcome their fears by means of breathing techniques.
The first virtual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 10 from 10am to 3pm and will cost £125. For those able to attend, the training continues on Sunday 11 October with a flight from London Heathrow.
