A US navy F-18E “Super Hornet” crashed in California on Tuesday. The pilot used his ejection seat and is being examined in a nearby hospital.
The crashed aircraft was conducting a regular training flight. Several local media report that the aircraft was carrying active arms at the time of the incident. The cause of the crash is still unknown.
There are no reported injuries on the ground. The local fire brigade was quickly on site, mainly due to the fact that the jet fighter crashed relatively close to the public road.
