Thai Airways, which is currently restructuring, has decided to sell a large portion of its fleet, including all Boeing 747s. The airline has suffered from the strict travel restrictions that Thailand put in place earlier this year.
In total, Thai has now put 31 aircraft for sale: three Airbus A340-500s, six Airbus A340-600s, ten Boeing 747-400s, six Boeing 777-200s and six Boeing 777-300s. In addition, one Airbus A300-600 and two Boeing 737-400s have been on sale for some time.
The aircraft can be delivered in the first half of 2021. There is no minimum price. Thai Airways has a special webpage online where interested parties can contact for more information and bid on the aircraft.
Thai Airways was known for operating almost all widebody types, making the fleet needlessly complex. This will soon consist of the Boeing 777-300ER, the Airbus A350-900, the Airbus A330-300, the Airbus A380, the Boeing 787-8 and the Boeing 787-9.
