At McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, a man crawled onto the wing of an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 on Saturday and fell off when he tried to climb the so-called winglet. The man was injured in his fall.
The plane was ready for departure to Portland, Oregon, news channel NBC reports. The man would have climbed over a fence to get to the airport. How the man managed to climb the airliner is not yet clear.
After an inspection and a four hour delay, the flight took off.
After his fall, the man was taken into custody and transported to hospital. Authorities assume the man suffers from a mental illness or disorder.
