Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is soon to start operating flights from Abu Dhabi to various cities in Europe. To emphasize the airline’s start, it offers a limited number of tickets at very low rates.
The new airline is a joint venture between Wizz Air and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding (ADDH). Initially, the first flights were set to take place from October 1, 2020, but this date was postponed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. With the end of the pandemic in sight, the company believes it is time to really get started.
The first flight is scheduled for Friday, January 15th and will take passengers to Athens. In addition to Athens, the new carrier plans to fly to Thessaloniki, Alexandria, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Odessa and Yerevan, with more destinations in the coming months. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi currently has four Airbus A321neos.
On its first series of flights, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is redefining the concept of low fares. Flying from Abu Dhabi to Athens will only cost you $0.27, just below €0.20. Passengers do need to be quick, as just 2.021 tickets are available at this rate.
