Swiss expects to receive its first Airbus A350 in not too much time. To celebrate the introduction of the type, the airline has announced a special livery.
The livery‘s name is ‘Wanderlust’ and displays various traditional Swiss motifs. Swiss stated that with the color scheme they ‘want to highlight the close ties between the company and its homeland’. The motif will exclusively feature on the first A350-900 of Swiss, registration HB-IFA. On the fuselage, among other things, Freddy Mercury, the singer of Queen, will be featured. The band had a studio in the country that which has now become a museum.
‘This special livery is our declaration of our love for Switzerland. It is a confirmation of how close we feel to our homeland. It is an invitation to everyone to discover and explore it in a playful and creative way,’ said Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer at the airline.
The last sentence of the statement refers to the ‘SWISS Treasure Hunt’. As part of the initiative, people can participate in a treasure hunt through the company’s website. People can therefore learn more about the details of each illustration by playing puzzles.
Final assembly
Last month Swiss shared the first images of the A350 when The aircraft was in the final assembly hall at the Airbus factory in Toulouse. The machine was only provided with the color scheme on the tail. HB-IFA is scheduled to be delivered to Swiss this summer. The type will eventually replace the aging fleet of A340s.
