A Boeing 737-800 from the French branch of Transavia diverted to Porto, Portugal, last Thursday afternoon.
The aircraft, registration F-HTVP, was preparing for flight TO7646 from Paris Orly Airport, the second-largest airport in the French capital, to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Half an hour later than scheduled, it took off at 3:50 PM in an easterly direction and made a sharp turn to the west immediately after takeoff. The 737 then continued its course toward Lisbon.

Unknown object on board
About an hour after departure, northeast of Portugal, the cabin crew reportedly noticed an unknown object on board, according to AV Herald. It was an iPad that belonged to no one. As a precaution, the pilots decided to make an unscheduled landing in Porto, a city located just over three hundred kilometers from Lisbon. The 737 ultimately lined up for runway 35 in a northern direction. Data from Flightradar24 shows that the pilots declared a state of emergency during the approach due to the unknown object. The aircraft eventually landed safely at the Portuguese airport.
Remaining of the flight
The aircraft was on the ground for about an hour and a half. Around 6:00 PM local time, the 737 prepared for the remainder of the flight. The aircraft took off in a northern direction and then immediately turned south. At an altitude of 23,000 feet (approximately 7,000 meters), the plane flew along the Portuguese coast toward Lisbon. Ultimately, the aircraft landed at its destination with a delay of about two hours.
